THE COURSES:

Beginners Course Level 1 - Duration - 6 weeks (1 hour per week)

Content - This course is for absolute beginners. Level 1 starts from the very basics, ensuring students complete the course with a good knowledge of strumming, timing and basic chord shapes. Students will learn to name different parts of the guitar, they will learn how to tune the guitar, and how to put new strings on. Students will receive weekly handouts to accompany each lesson.
Cost - £90

Beginners Course Level 2- Duration - 6 weeks (1 hour per week)

Content - Level 2 builds on the knowledge acquired from level 1. Students will perfect technique, learn more complex chord shapes and patterns, and how different chords relate to one another. More advanced strumming technique will be acquired and, as in level 1, students will be furnished with comprehensive course notes to use at home.
Cost - £90

Rolling Group - Constant weekly sessions, pay monthly (min 2 month)

Content - This group is perfect for the guitarist with the basics mastered. Those who know how to play major and minor chords and can strum in time. Each week students will select the songs they would like to learn and study the techniques needed to play the song, and how to practice efficiently at home. Some basic theory of how songs are put together will be taught and students will take handouts each week in order to perfect the songs at home.
Cost - £15 per session (minimum payment - 4 sessions)

Specialist Groups - Duration - 6 to 10 weeks

Content - Pending interest, specialist groups will occur frequently throughout the year. These groups will teach students specific music styles. e.g. blues guitar group, rock guitar group, jazz guitar group etc. These courses are perfect for guitarists who would like to brush up on previous lessons perhaps. Guitarists who are maybe a little rusty from an extended break in playing, but have good technique and would like to get back involved! Students who have come through the beginners courses will be encouraged to reach this standard.
